Free Eckhart Tolle New Earth Resources

In a previous blog entry and newsletter I introduced some of Eckhart Tolle’s work in an article titled “Reduce your worrying through being in the moment”. Click here to view the original article. I referenced his book and also linked you to hours of free video content that acts like an online training course and deepens your understanding of the content of his books.
Since then I have recommended Eckhart’s books (in particular “A New Earth”) to lots of my clients and used his ideas and principles within my coaching programmes. His stuff literally transforms people, which is why he now has such a huge following. You need to be ready for this stuff before you can really benefit from it, but trust me, if it clicks with you the results are phenomenal.
Eckhart Tolle’s work covers off a vast number of areas, but the three main themes I always remember are:
· Being “present” and “in the now” – focusing on what you are doing NOW and less on what has happened to you beforehand or what might be coming up in the future. Learn how to stop carrying the past. How much time do you spend in the moment compared with thinking about the past or the future? How much time do you spend worrying about stuff that probably isn’t going to happen anyway?
· Ego – understand how your ego can adversely impact your behaviours and well being. Increase your awareness of ego and learn how to manage it. If you do not understand the concept of ego you will be shocked once you learn how much of your behaviours and actions it drives. Understanding more about ego also helps you to understand those around you more.
· The concept of the “pain body” within you that wants to be fed with negative thinking and emotionally negative experiences. Raise your awareness to the “pain body” and learn how to recognise it when it surfaces and keep it at bay, which makes you feel much happier and less stressed.
Anyway, that’s enough scene setting. The reason for the email/article is that I stumbled across another really good free resource the other day on iTunes. Go into the podcast directory in iTunes on your PC/MAC or iPhone and search for “Eckhart Tolle TV”. If you subscribe to his podcast there are a stack of short videos in there and uploads content regularly.
If you read it and find that you are not really connecting to it then that’s fine. Perhaps you could pick it up at a later date when you will be more ready for it. However, most people that look at his stuff will connect to it and then be curious about how it can help them. It is also worth noting that although it is very spiritual, Eckhart’s work is religiously agnostic i.e. you don’t have to follow any particular religion to make use of it.
If you end up subscribing to this stuff please let me know how you find it. Definitely food for thought for this new decade we have entered!
