Unfortunately, the brutal facts are that a massive percentage of coaches (we are talking thousands) fail to create a practice that produces a credible income. This is not because the world is full of poor coaches. Quite the contrary. Most coaches (even the coaches with failing practices) are great at coaching. Where they struggle is with the stuff around the edge e.g. sales, marketing, confidence etc and that is where I can help.
Ninety percent of my clients take my coaching services over the telephone or Skype. This method of coaching works well. When it is delivered effectively, it enables significant life changes, it pays well, there are no travel costs, it is very time efficient and I get the opportunity to coach from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world at times which are convenient to me and my clients.
I am a big fan of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). I am an NLP Practitioner and I was fortunate enough to train with Richard Bandler (NLP Cofounder) and Paul McKenna. One thing that NLP has taught me is that strategies can be learnt and if one person is achieving results in a given area then anybody else can enjoy the same benefits if they know how. Simple isn’t it? Well, I have applied this to building a successful coaching practice. I have worked with lots of coaches and helped them to increase their confidence, create a great web site, generate more clients and build effective and profitable coaching practices.
I understand the value of coaching first hand as a coach and as a recipient of coaching. I want more coaches to be successful, which means that coaching continues to grow rapidly as an industry and more people benefit.
I have talked to a significant number of coaches who have the qualification, the web site, the skills to help people, but for some reason they cannot generate sufficient paying clients. Many good coaches end up quitting the profession for this reason and this is a real waste of investment and talent.
As my practice became more successful I found myself starting to help other coaches build their practices by sharing techniques and knowledge.
I understand that starting a coaching practice and generating clients is extremely challenging. Many of the courses that coaches attend provide an excellent overview and some guidance around generating clients, but this is not always enough. The main reason for this is that we all need to do things differently and the one-to-one time you receive on a course is limited or non-existant. However, we are all individuals with our own strengths, weaknesses and circumstances that influence what steps we need to take to build our businesses.
The return on investment is simple - you sell one or two coaching programmes as a result of working with me and your investment is paid back. Any further coaching programmes you sell as as a result of our work together are profit. Every coach and counsellor I have worked with has seen an excellent return on investment.
