Life Coach Training
Would you like to transform people’s lives or businesses whilst earning a significant additional income through life coaching on a part time basis?
Thinking of becoming a life coach? You may wish to consider getting some training. There are a range of courses available that vary considerably in terms of price, quality and approach.
For most people, taking a course in life coaching or business coaching is a significant undertaking. The first thing that people think about is the financial investment, but don’t underestimate how much time and energy it will require to complete. You may be looking at hundreds of hours so you must make your decision very carefully prior to committing.
Within the UK, there are a number of different options. The leading courses are from The Coaching Academy and Noble Manhattan. These courses typically combine of a few days training, home study, written assignments and a number of hours coaching to build your skills and confidence. There are also a range of courses available, which are purely self study.
Beware...there are a lot of bad courses out there that lack substance and usable content. These promise you the earth on their web sites, but leave you without the right experience, qualification or knowledge to make your coaching practice a success.
Some courses offer introductory weekends for free or a very small charge, which are worth attending. These weekend courses offer you the chance to get to know some of the trainers, how their organisation operates, learn some basic coaching principles and network with other people who are also thinking of becoming coaches.
If you attend one of these introductory weekend courses be sure to keep a close eye on your emotions. These weekends are carefully designed to try and get you to sign up to a “special deal” at the end. I have talked to people that started out with no intention of purchasing a training course and then coming away after one weekend five thousand pounds lighter signing up to two or three courses! My advice to you is to think through whether you want to commit to a course prior to the weekend or whether you would like more time to reflect. If you choose the latter then stick by your guns. These training organisations will sometimes honour the special deals they offer after the event if you offer them your business.
I offer a free and independent consultation to assess your suitability for becoming a life coach or business coach. This includes helping you consider an appropriate life coaching training course.
